마 21_01-11 겸손한 입성 4-5-2020 남영식목사
1 ①예수와 그 제자들이 예루살렘에 가까이 이르러, 올리브 산에 있는 벳바게 마을에 들어섰다. 그 때에 예수께서 두 제자를 보내시며 / ①그, '그들이'
2 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "맞은편 마을로 가거라. 가서 보면, 나귀 한 마리가 매여 있고, 그 곁에 새끼가 있을 것이다. 풀어서, 나에게로 끌고 오너라.
3 누가 너희에게 무슨 말을 하거든, ②'주님께서 쓰려고 하십니다' 하고 말하여라. 그리하면 곧 내어줄 것이다." / ②또는 "'주님께서 쓰시고 곧 돌려 주실 것입니다' 하고 말하여라"
4 이것은, 예언자를 시켜서 하신 말씀을 이루시려는 것이었다.
5 ③"시온의 딸에게 말하여라. 보아라, 네 임금이 네게로 오신다. 그는 온유하시어, 나귀를 타셨으니, 어린 나귀, 곧 멍에 메는 짐승의 새끼다." / ③슥 9:9
6 제자들이 가서, 예수께서 지시하신 대로,
7 어미 나귀와 새끼 나귀를 끌어다가, 그 위에 겉옷을 얹으니, 예수께서 올라타셨다.
8 큰 무리가 자기들의 겉옷을 길에다가 폈으며, 다른 사람들은 나뭇가지를 꺾어다가 길에 깔았다.
9 그리고 앞에 서서 가는 무리와 뒤따라오는 무리가 외쳤다. ④"⑤호산나, 다윗의 자손께! 복되시다, 주님의 이름으로 오시는 분! 더없이 높은 곳에서 호산나!" / ④시 118:26 ⑤'구하여 주십시오!'를 뜻하는 히브리어였으나 찬양의 감탄으로 사용됨
10 예수께서 예루살렘에 들어가셨을 때에, 온 도시가 들떠서 물었다. "이 사람이 누구냐?"
11 사람들은 그가 갈릴리 나사렛에서 나신 예언자 예수라고 말하였다.
<< 말씀 해설 >>
1. 종려주일입니다. 예수께서 예루살렘 성으로 들어가신 것을 기념하는 주일입니다.
2. 마태복음 21장(막11,눅18,요12)에 그 장면이 기록되어 있습니다. 갈릴리를 중심으로 하나님의 나라 소식을 전하던 예수께서, 예루살렘을 향하여 오셨는데, 마침내 종교의 중심지 예루살렘으로 들어가신 것입니다.
3. 예수께서는 나귀 한 마리를 준비하도록 하셨고, 준비된 나귀 위에 무리는 옷을 깔았습니다. 그분이 그것을 타고 들어가실 때, 무리들은 자기들의 겉옷을 길에 펴고, 다른 사람들은 나뭇가지 를 꺾어 길에 깔았습니다. 무리는 “호산나, 다윗의 자손. 호산나, 주의 이름으로 오시는 분. 더 없이높은 곳에서 호산나”라고 외쳤습니다. 이제 그분의 예루살렘에 들어가시는 의미에 대하여 생각해 봅시다.
4. 그것은 너무나 소박하고, 겸손한 행렬이었습니다. 왕의 행렬과는 너무나 거리가 먼 것입니다. 즉흥적으로 준비된 나귀 새끼에, 겉옷을 깔고, 그 위에 타고 가는 모양새는 상상하는 것만으로도 충분히 초라 합니다. 마치 왕의 입성장면 같지만, 나귀는 평민의 이동수단입니다. 왕이 나귀를 타지는 않습니다. 추종하는 무리의 환영 행렬이 있었지만, 여전히 그 모양은 초라합니다. 하지만 그분의 이 행렬은 의미 충만합니다. 이것을 통하여 우리는 다음과 같은 것을 배웁니다. 하나님의 백성이 의미있게 행동한다면, 진정성이 있다면, 그들은 화려하지 않아도 되고, 초라한 가운데서 하나님의 뜻은 이루어 진다는 것입니다.
5. 그것은 고난을 향해 가는 길이었습니다. 그분의 마지막 일주일에 일어난 그 험난한 여정을 생각하면서, 이 입성 장면을 생각하면, 그 행렬의 의미가 더 잘 드러납니다. 그것은 죽을 향한 길이었습니다. 환영을 받으며 들어갔으나 그것이 고난의 길이었습니다. 그 극한 고난을 기억합시다.
6. 하지만 그것은 구원을 위한 길이었습니다. 무리의 외침, 호산나는 우리를 구원해 주십시오 라는 뜻입니다. 머지 않아 죽어갈 그에게 사람들은 자기들을 구원해 주기를 바랐던 것입니다. 구원해야 할 분이 고난을 받고 죽임을 당했다는 것은 역설입니다. 하지만 예수는 죽음으로써 사람들을 살리셨습니다. 우리는 그분의 삶고 죽음을 통하여 구원의 길을 깨닫습니다.
7. 그분의 고난과 죽음은 하나님의 뜻을 올곧게 따랐기 때문에 찾아온 것입니다. 그렇게 찾아온 고난과 죽음이었기에, 그것을 통하여 세상을 살릴 수 있었습니다. 그 고난과 죽음에 감사드립시다. 하나님의 뜻을 올곧게 따르신 것, 그것에 담겨진 것, 곧 그분이 하나님께 보여 드린 한없는 헌신과 신뢰에 찬송을 올려 드립시다.
8. 또한 동시에 우리 자신을 돌아보며 반성합시다. 가능하기만 하다면 편하고 안전한 것만을 추구해온 우리 자신을 반성 합니다. 하나님에 대한 온전한 신뢰에 부족함이 많았던 것을 반성합니다. 하나님의 뜻 따르기에 온 몸을 드리지 못한 것도 반성합니다. 그리고 하나님께 도움을 구합니다. 주여 우리를 불쌍히 여겨 주소서. 우리에게 자비를 베풀어 주소서.
9. 이렇게 주님을 바라보고, 자신을 돌아보는 우리 모두에게 하나님의 은혜가 충만하기를 바랍니다.
10. 아울러 코로나 바이러스로 인해 고통 중에 있는 수많은 사람들을 생각합니다. 그 위협에 긴장하고 있는 우리들, 세계 시민들을 생각합니다. 부디 이 세계가 이 고난을 딛고 일어서기를 바랍니다. 하나님께서 이 고통중에 있는 이 세계를 구해 주시기를 기도합니다.
11. 갑자기 찾아온 이 어이 없는 사건을 통하여, 사람들이 무엇인가를 배우게 되기를 기도합시다. 사람들이 잘못된 생활 양식을 고치고, 새로운 미래를 향해 앞으로 나아가게 되기를 기도합시다. 이 아픔을 통하여 세계가 더 성숙하게 되기를 기도합시다.
12. 기도- 사랑하는 아버지 하나님, 우리 주 예수님의 고난을 생각하는 이 주일에 하나님께 기도드립니다. 주님이 받으신 고난의 의미를 저희가 깊이 생각하게 하소서.
그리고 지금 이 세계가 겪고 있는 위기도 잘 이겨낼 수 있도록 힘을 주소서. 고통 당하는 이들을 위로하여 주시고, 이길 수 있도록 힘을 주소서. 우리 모두 건강하도록 지켜 주시고, 온 세계가 건강하도록 지켜주소서.
이 일을 통하여 세계가 스스로를 돌아보게 하시며, 깨닫게 하시고, 배우게 해 주소서. 더 나은 미래를 만들어 갈 수 있도록 우리를 도우소서. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
Scripture Matthew 21
1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,
2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.
3 If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
5 “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”
6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.
7 They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on.
8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna* to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”** “Hosanna* in the highest heaven!” / *A Hebrew expression meaning “Save!” which became an exclamation of praise; also in verse 15 / **Psalm 118:25,26
10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”
Interpretation of the word
1. This is Palm Sunday. It is a Sunday for commemorating Jesus' entry into the city of Jerusalem.
2. The scene is described in Matthew 21 (Mark 11, Luke 18, John 12). Jesus, who was preaching the news of the Kingdom of God on Galilee, came to Jerusalem, and finally entered Jerusalem, the center of religion.
3. Jesus commanded his disciples a donkey ready, and they laid a bunch of clothes over the prepared donkey. When he entered it, the crowds spread their outer garments on the road, and others cut branches and laid them on the road. The crowd said, “Hosanna, descendant of David. Hosanna, who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest place." Now, let’s think about the meaning of his entering into Jerusalem.
4. It was a very simple and humble procession. It was far from the king's procession. The shape of an image of a donkey, laying robes , and riding on it is too humble for a king. Donkeys suddenly prepared by people, just their robes put on it. So the shape of riding is Humble and shabby. Even though there weren’t people who shouted, it was definitely humble. But this entry is meaningful.
Through this, we learn these : If the meaning is full, and if there is authenticity, God's will will be fulfilled through the shabbiness, even if his people are not gorgeous.
5. It was the way to suffering. Thinking of the rough journey that took place in his last week. With thinking about this scene of entry, the meaning of the procession is better revealed. It was a path to death. He went in with a welcome, but it was the way of suffering.
6. But it was a way for salvation. The crowd's cry, Hosanna, means “save us”. To those who would soon die, people hoped to save them. It was a paradox.t Jesus who suffered and was killed can save us. Jesus’s death was the way to save us.
7. The reason for his suffering and death came because he followed God's will all the way. Because of such suffering and death, he can save the world through these. Let's thank Jesus for the suffering and death. Let's praise Him for His boundless devotion and trust in God. He has followed God's will all the way.
8. Also, let us reflect on ourselves. We have been pursuing only comfortable and safe things. Let us reflect ourselves on the lack of full trust in God. Let us reflect on the failure to give our whole body and mind according to the will of God. And let's seek help from God. Oh, our Lord, have pity on us! Have mercy on us!
9. May God's grace be full of all of us who look to the Lord and reflect on ourselves.
10. In addition, let’s consider the numerous people suffering from the covid 19. Let’s think of us and the world's citizens who are nervous about the threat. I hope we will stand up firmly to this suffering. Let’s pray that God will save this suffering world.
11. Let's pray for people to learn something through this sudden incident. Pray for people to fix wrong lifestyles and move toward a new future. Let's pray for this pain to make this world grow more.
12. Prayer- Dear Father God, we pray to you on this Sunday, thinking about the suffering of our Lord Jesus. Help us to meditate the meaning of his suffering.
And empower us and the world to overcome the crisis that this world is facing right now. Comfort those who suffer, and empower them to win. Keep all of us healthy and keep the whole world healthy.
Help the world to reflect itself, realize, and learn through this to create a better life style, better future.
