8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’*” / *Deut. 6:13
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
8 또다시 악마는 예수를 매우 높은 산으로 데리고 가서, 세상의 모든 나라와 그 영광을 보여주고 말하였다.
9 "네가 나에게 엎드려서 절을 하면, 이 모든 것을 네게 주겠다."
10 그 때에 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "사탄아, 물러가라. 성경에 기록하기를 ④'주 너의 하나님께 경배하고, 그분만을 섬겨라' 하였다." / ④신 6:13(칠십인역)
11 이 때에 악마는 떠나가고, 천사들이 와서, 예수께 시중을 들었다.

코로나 확산으로 매일 걱정하고 있는 우리 모두에게 우리 주님의 위로와 평강이 함께하시기를 바랍니다. 온 세계가 이 위기를 잘 이길수 있도록 기도하고, 우리도 손 씻기를 통하여 자기를 지키고, 사회적 거리두기에 동참하여 Covid 19 확산을 늦추는 데 힘을 보탭시다. May the comfort and peace of our Lord be with all of us who are worried every day about the spread of corona. Let's pray for the whole world to overcome this crisis, and protect ourselves through washing our hands and join us in social distancing to help slow the spread of covid-19.
이번 주일에도 지난 주일에 이어 예수님이 시험 받는 장면의 한 부분을 읽었습니다. 악마는 예수를 매우 높은 산으로 데리고 가서 세상 나라의 영광을 보여주었습니다. 그리고 자기에게 절하면 이 모든 것을 주겠다고 유혹하였습니다. 하지만 예수님은 악마에게, 사탄아 물러가라, 성경에 기록되기를 하나님만 경배하고 섬기라고 기록되었다고 말씀하시며 유혹을 물리치셨습니다. 예수님이 받으신 이 시험은 세상의 부귀와 영화를 위해 악마의 종이 되어 악마를 섬길 것이냐, 하나님만을 예배하고 섬길 것이냐의 문제였습니다. 이 시험 이야기에서 다음 몇 가지를 생각해 보고, 기억하도록 합시다.
Again on this Sunday, we read a part of the scene where Jesus was tried. The devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed the glory of the kingdom of the world. And then he said, if you bow to me, I will give to you all these. But Jesus rejected the temptation by telling “the devil, Satan, Go back, it is written in the Bible that only God should be worshiped and served.” The test Jesus received was a question of whether to serve the devil as a servant of the devil for the wealth and glory of the world, or to worship and serve God alone. Let's consider and remember some of the following in this test story.
1. 세상의 부귀와 영화는 모두를 유혹하는 시험거리일 수 있습니다. 하나님의 자녀는 이 시험을 이겨야 합니다.
1. The world's riches and glories can be a temptation to tempt everyone. God's children must overcome this test.
2. 하나님의 자녀가 예배하고 섬겨야 할 대상은 하나님이지 악마이어서는 안 됩니다. 2. The object of God's children to worship and serve is God, not the devil.
3. 세상의 부귀와 영화를 목적으로 살아서는 안 됩니다. 하나님의 자녀가 그것을 위해 악마의 종이 되어서는 안 됩니다.
3. We should not live for the purpose of the world's wealth and glories. God's children should not be the devil's servant for tha.
4. 세상의 부귀 영화를 기준으로 사람을 판단하지 말아야 합니다. 그것은 모두에게 주어질 수 없고, 복의 상징도 아닙니다. 그것은 오히려 악마의 유혹일 가능성이 큽니다. 아울러 부귀와 영화를 누리는 사람을 미워하지도 맙시다. 미움은 우리 내면의 부러움을 반영하는 것입니다.
4. We should not judge people based on the world's wealth and glories. It cannot be given to all, nor is it a symbol of blessing. It is rather likely the temptation of the devil. Also, let's not hate people who have wealth and glories. “Hate” is a reflection of our inner envy.
5. 우리도 예수님처럼 하나님만 섬기며 살기를 바랍니다. 예수님은 악마의 유혹을 물리치시고, 하나님을 섬기며 살았습니다. 그분은 세상의 부귀와 영화가 아닌 하나님이 기뻐하시는 뜻을 따라 사셨습니다. 우리도 예수님처럼 하나님만 예배하고 하나님만 섬기는, 하나님의 자녀들이 되기를 소망합니다. 이 일에 부귀와 영화는 없을지 모르지만 하나님의 사랑과 은혜는 충만할 것입니다. 여러분을 주 안에서 사랑하고 축복합니다. 어려운 중에서도 용기를 잃지 마시고, 모두 주님의 은혜 아래 강건하시길 바랍니다. 아멘.
5. We want to live serving only God like Jesus. Jesus rejected the temptations of the devil and served only God. He lived the will of God, not for the wealth and glories of the world. We hope to be children of God who worship only God and serve God just like Jesus. Even though there may not be wealth and glory in this way, but love and grace of God will be overflowed for us. I love you and bless you in our Lord. Please, don’t lose your courage in the time of difficulties, and I wish all of you to be strong under the grace of the Lord. Amen.

Covide-19 확산으로 어려운 시기를 보내고 있는 우리 교우, 형제 자매들에게, 주님 안에서 문안 인사드립니다. 모두 고립되어 힘들고 절망스럽지만, 부디 힘을 내어 이겨내시길 바랍니다. 하나님이 주시는 힘으로 이 어려움을 이겨 내시길 바랍니다.
Greetings from the Lord to our fellow brothers and sisters who are having a difficult time with the spread of Covide-19. We are all isolated and difficult and desperate, but I hope we do the best to overcome it with the power of God.
시편 Psalm 27:1, 주님이 나의 빛, 나의 구원이신데, 내가 누구를 두려워하랴? 주님이 내 생명의 피난처이신데, 내가 누구를 무서워하랴? ===> 신앙심이 투철해도 코로나 바이러스는 피해가지 않습니다. 주님이 지켜 주신다는 믿음이 투철해도 코로나 바이러스는 무서워해야 합니다.
Psalm 27: 1, The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid? ===> Even though we have a strong confidence and faithful, Coronavirus does not avoid us. We should be afraid of the corona virus even while we have strong confidence that Lord is protecting us.
각자 자신을 지킬 최선의 길을 마련하시고, 즉시 행동에 옮기시기 바랍니다. 또한 사회적 거리두기도 소홀히 하지 맙시다. 이 시기에 자기 자신과 이웃을 지키는 유일한 길은 사회적 거리두기 뿐입니다. 사회적 거리두기를 하지 않아서 자신이나 이웃을 위험에 빠뜨리지 말고, 사회적 거리두기를 실천하여 자기 자신도 지키고, 이웃에게도 피해를 주지 않는 성숙한 그리스도인들이 되도록 합시다. 지금은 사회적 거리두기를 실천하여 이웃을 사랑할 때입니다.
Please, prepare the best way to protect yourself and act immediately. Also, don't neglect social distancing, please. The only way to protect ourselves and our neighbors is to practice social distancing this season. Let's not put ourselves or our neighbors at risk because we don't practice social distancing, let's practice social distancing so that we can be mature Christians who protect ourselves and don't harm our neighbors. Now is the time to practice social distancing for loving our neighbor.
시편 Psalm 27:7 내가 주님을 애타게 부를 때에, 들어 주십시오. 나를 불쌍히 여기시고, 응답하여 주십시오. ===> 하나님이 인류의 부르짖음을 들어 주시고 이길 수는 힘을 주시기를 기도합시다.

이 위기가 다 지나갈 때까지 모두 건강하시길 바랍니다. 잘 이겨 내도록 각자 있는 곳에서, 서로를 위해서, 세계를 위해서 기도하도록 합시다. 서로 떨어져 있으나 우리는 마음으로 주 안에서 연결되어 있음을 믿습니다. 상황이 끝나 교회 문을 다시 열어 다시 만날 때까지, 이렇게 종종 메일 드리겠습니다. 늘 강건하시고 평안하시길 바랍니다. 우리 주님 안에서 여러분을 사랑합니다.

I hope you are all healthy until this crisis is over. Let's pray for each other and the world in each place to overcome well. Although we can’t see each other, we believe that we are connected in the Lord, and in our heart. Until the situation is over and the church door is reopened again, I will mail you often. I hope you will always be strong and peaceful. I love all of you in our Lord.
